I worked in the finance industry for several years and wished to become an analyst. I decided to study the MSc Finance programme to gain the knowledge and confidence to pursue a career in valuations. I chose LUMS because it is partnered with the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute (CFA) and has great facilities. I am now working as a financial analyst for Cushman & Wakefield.
I chose to study at LUMS because it is a few triple-accredited business school with a high graduate employment rate and many Chinese employers value Lancaster graduates. The best thing about studying at LUMS is the cultural diversity among staff and students, which helped me to develop my communication skills. I was able to gain international experience by studying at the Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics for one term at the end of my Masters programme thanks to LUMS' postgraduate study abroad programme.
Having worked as a financial services consultant for IBM in Germany, I wished to specialise in finance in order to enter the banking industry. I opted to study at LUMS because of its rankings and triple-accreditation and also because the MSc Finance modules contribute towards the CFA exams. At the end of my Masters programme I joined Renmin University in Beijing as part of the LUMS postgraduate study abroad programme and I plan to enter the banking industry in East Asia.
Before coming to LUMS, I already had experience of working in finance and wished to specialise further. I chose to study MSc Finance because it was highly ranked and because a friend who already studied at Lancaster recommended the University to me. During my time at LUMS, I was a student course representative and also a Student Ambassador.
I enjoyed my undergraduate study at LUMS so much that I decided to stay to continue my studies at Masters level! I like the fact that the faculty includes both business professionals and leading academics. I enjoyed activities such as visits to company offices because they established a strong connection between academia and real-world practice.
Now employed in the risk department of an investment management firm, I chose to study MSc Finance at LUMS in order to improve my job prospects and enhance my financial knowledge. I picked LUMS because it is staffed by world renowned professionals and because the partnership between MSc Finance and the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute (CFA) is unique to only a few universities.
My dream was always to study in the UK and experience a campus university, and Lancaster provided me with this opportunity. I chose to study MSc Finance because I have always been fascinated by financial markets; by taking this course it improved my understanding of various aspects of the global financial world. Throughout my course I received high quality teaching and I had access to the University’s amazing facilities.
I was motivated to study at LUMS because of the strong international reputation and the abundance of resources that they have to offer. I very much enjoyed my international experience at Lancaster. It provided me with the opportunity to meet people from around the world, enabling me to experience and learn about different nationalities and cultures. All of which led to me developing more professional skills appropriate for the Finance industry.
I decided to study at LUMS because of the excellent academic reputation it has as a world ranked triple accredited business school. My passion and interest in finance, particularly in the area of asset pricing, and my desire to explore this subject area further is what led me to study this course. Once I have graduated I will be attending Copenhagen Business School to complete a second masters in Applied Economics and Finance.
The reason that I chose to study the MSc Finance programme is very simple: It offers the most cutting-edge finance knowledge, as well as unparalleled career opportunities. For instance, I was able to study in Switzerland for an investment banking training program for the summer. Now equipped with advanced financial knowledge, I am ready to begin my career in the Investment Banking industry.
