Programme content

The central aim of the Management MSc is to familiarise you with principles and techniques from the main management areas, so that you are able to develop the knowledge, flexibility and skills-base needed for a wide range of management careers.

The key focus is on human resource management, accounting and financial management, organisational behaviour, managerial economics, marketing management, operations management and strategy.

The Management MSc introduces you to the full range of management and business disciplines, starting with foundation modules in Term 1 and progressing to more advanced modules in Terms 2 and 3. 

Term 1: September to December

The programme begins with an induction week during which you learn more about the various elements of the programme and the facilities available within the School and University. You also take part in teamwork exercises and other activities – academic and social – designed to help you get to know one another before the formal part of the programme.

In Term 1, you take eight foundation modules:

Term 2: January to March

You take seven further core modules.:

Term 3: April to August

During this part of the programme, you complete the Research Methods module and a Research Project – either library-based or company-based.
