What made me choose to study at LUMS was its reputation and an internationally-oriented programme set in a global environment. I liked working and living with people with various backgrounds and participating in the World Economic Forum. Meeting new classmates and friends was definitely one of my best experiences in Lancaster.

Seeing LUMS in the top university rankings, I could not resist being part of a renowned programme, getting to learn from the best teachers and meeting students of different nationalities. The programme has a wide range of modules that enabled me to get an international perspective on business, which was perfect for me. Also, being the President of African Delegation for the World Economic Forum symposium was an unforgettable experience.

Having previously studied undergraduate economics at LUMS, I knew first-hand of its quality of teaching and I liked the campus environment. The most interesting part of the course was the World Economic Forum simulation, during which I led the International Monetary Fund group.

The quality of education on offer at LUMS is why I decided to study here. I had previously studied in Malaysia but wanted to gain a deeper understanding of international business. The best moment for me was the World Economic Forum, during which we had to act as individual countries and discuss some of the pressing economic issues of our time. People really got into their roles!

I chose LUMS because the lecturers here are extremely qualified and capable of inspiring people. The course was interesting because it offered both theoretical and practical dimensions. I was very proud to receive the Lancaster Award from the Chancellor, Sir Chris Bonington. I now work as a strategic marketing manager for a leading online gaming firm in India.

The MSc International Business programme met my needs, deepened my understanding of theories and also improved my executive capacity under time constraints. This programme challenges your maths, reading and writing skills. After graduation I plan to go to Bocconi University on an exchange programme. I will then go to Shanghai to receive training and complete my CFA exam, with the expectation that I will secure a job in asset management enterprises later.

LUMS is an outstanding faculty with exceptional facilities, for instance they offer the opportunity to gain high quality research method skills. Studying International Business took me out of my comfort zone because of the tight schedules, deadlines and demand for a high standard of work, which made me produce quality work I never thought possible. After graduation, I hope to go into academia where l can put my research skills into practice and develop my teaching abilities to become a lecturer.

The International Business programme has a good balance of classroom-teaching and self-research components, and the extensive modules provided me with the possibility to focus on an area which interested me the most. My plan after graduation is to find a job relating to either consultancy or marketing within a multinational company. This would give the opportunity to hopefully work abroad; I very much enjoy working with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
