Scholarships and funding

We know that undertaking Masters study can be a significant financial commitment and we are therefore making available significant scholarship funds for applicants who have been offered a place on the programme and who meet our scholarship criteria. These generous scholarships are provided for self-funded and part-funded applicants. The scholarship amounts vary and typically range from £1,000 to £4,000, but can be up to 50% of the fees.

How do I apply?

You will automatically be considered for these scholarships when we review your application and while funds are available. Because we allocate scholarships on a rolling basis, it is therefore wise to make your application for the programme as early in the year as you can.

There is no need to complete any additional paperwork. However, you may be invited to participate in a short telephone interview as part of the selection process or asked to supply further supporting information. If we shortlist you for a scholarship, we will let you know what we need from you and the process involved.

If you are awarded a scholarship, you may be asked to act as a student ambassador or representative for the programme.

For further information about other potential sources of funding for postgraduate study, see the Scholarships and funding page in our general pages on Masters study at LUMS.

The leading global reputation of Lancaster University Management School and the MSc in International Business have been recognised by the award of a Commonwealth Scholarship. Applications for this scholarship are restricted to nationals of any Commonwealth member country. Competition for this award will be extremely strong and it will be awarded by the University, in consultation with the Commonwealth Scholarships Commission, to the most outstanding candidate who satisfies the eligibility and admissions criteria for the Programme. For further details on eligibility, finance available and conditions of the award, see Commonwealth Shared Scholarships.

The Commonwealth Scholarship will cover all costs associated with studying at Lancaster - including fees, return air ticket and book allowance - together with a monthly stipend to cover living expenses.

If you wish to be considered for the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme, you must include with your application a separate request letter clearly stating that you wish to be considered for the award.
