Funding & scholarships

Two forms of funding are available to help students on the MSc International Innovation: programme bursary and scholarships.

Programme bursary for all students

The MSc International Innovation is closely aligned to the £5.1m Lancaster China Catalyst Programme, therefore for 2016 entry we are be able to provide 35 students on this Masters programme a £16,000 tax-free bursary over the two years to help with living costs.

This funding is provided through the HEFCE Catalyst Fund, the key partner in the Lancaster China Catalyst Programme. Tuition fees still apply.

The bursary will be distributed through instalments over the duration of the programme to assist with living expenses. £8,000 of the bursary will be given out in Year 1 and the same amount in Year 2.

In addition to the bursary, we are able to offer a number of scholarships to those entering the programme in 2016, and those who are awarded a scholarship will have this deducted from their tuition fees when they register on the programme.

If you wish to be considered for a scholarship, please submit a written statement of no more than 500 words (using this form), detailing why you feel you should be considered for a scholarship for this programme, to with the subject line MSc International Innovation Scholarship no later than 2nd May 2016. Scholarship applications should only be submitted once you hold an offer of a place on the programme. Information you might wish to include in your statement might be concerned with:

  • How the programme fits with your long-term career aspirations
  • Relevant work experience
  • Global view
  • Cultural awareness

To help with study and living costs, Lancaster University also offers postgraduates a range of scholarships, studentships and bursaries.
