Programme content

The Lancaster EMBA programme is designed to build your functional knowledge and your leadership capability through a combination of taught modules in key management areas interspersed with experiential projects, or Challenges, where you apply that knowledge to specific business issues.

These are complemented by coursework assignments, usually undertaken within your organisation.

Year 1

Your first year starts with an online induction period and a three day Introductory Workshop, followed by six core modules.

Online induction period – four weeks of preparatory refresher sessions and pre-reading designed to rapidly build your subject knowledge, refamiliarise you with important study skills and smooth your return to education. Through online interaction you will also start forming relationships with other programme participants.

Introductory workshop – an introduction to staff, facilities and the programme's central ethos of learning through action, this first workshop also includes our unique personal development course called the Mindful Manager. You will begin your module preparation here by examining your own beliefs on leading and leadership practice.

Year 2

Choose three elective modules from a selection including International Business in Context and others to be confirmed.
