International opportunities

As a student on the Lancaster EMBA you'll have a number of opportunities within the programme to add to your experience of international business, and learn first-hand of some of the surrounding social and cultural issues.

International Business in Context

The optional International Business in Context module* in Year 2 – not part of the formal assessment for the EMBA programme – enables you to discover more about an emerging economy by taking part in an intensive study tour, hosted by one of our partner institutions.

The study tour runs for seven-ten days and offers a combination of lectures, reflection and company visits.

* Not a required part of the programme, and attracts an extra fee – for indicative costs, see the module description.

Doing Business in China

Also offered during Year 2 is ‘Doing Business in China’, a two-week Study Abroad programme hosted and taught by the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University, the leading Chinese university.

This open programme attracts MBA students from around the world, and offers a mixture of lectures on the Chinese economy, history and culture, some basic Chinese language tuition and visits to local companies.

As with our other international exchanges below, selection for this programme is competitive. Fees for the programme itself are covered, but participants are responsible for travel and associated living costs.

Other study abroad options

Partnerships with other top European business schools mean that there are other international exchange programmes which are open to both full-time and EMBA students. These vary in length from three weeks to several months.

For full details of current programmes see Study Abroad on the full-time MBA site.

To enable you to plan ahead if you would like to take part, you will receive information on the options available, plus any costs involved, towards the end of Year 1.
