Global Channel Marketing Manager, Nokia

Prior to coming to the UK  I graduated with a Bachelors degree in International Economics from the Shanghai International Institution of Foreign Trade. I discovered my enthusiasm for marketing during my first job in a leading consulting firm. I then moved on to work for a PR company in Shanghai. After gaining a deeper understanding of the marketing environment, I decided to go abroad to pursue higher education in marketing to gain advanced knowledge and skills and take a leading role in the industry.

Before coming to LUMS I took a MA programme in Applied Research and Consultancy at Lancaster University. The MA programme was based on real projects with local companies. I was working with a local theatre company to develop their digital marketing strategy. Studying on this  programme was an excellent experience in all aspects: teaching and research quality, reputation, diversity, and real-time experience. This  made me choose to take another Masters programme in the Management School, the MSc in Advanced Marketing Management.

This MSc programme did not disappoint me. Advanced students are able to gain deeper knowledge in marketing; it is carefully designed for future market leaders, and covers all essential fields in marketing. The professors are knowledgeable and helpful. During the course, I met great people from all over the world, and worked with them in different groups. I also made some life-time friends here.

The knowledge, skills and experience I got from the programme prepared me for the real business world, and helped me to get a position in Nokia’s global marketing team. All of these are still helping me during my day-to-day work.

I very much appreciate this wonderful journey, and would like to wish all graduates, and those who are coming to LUMS a bright future!
