Management in the 21st Century

This course will address the following question: what are the main challenges for management in the 21st Century?

This will allow us to explore some of the key themes on the current management agenda in order to equip students with a wider understanding of the challenges they will face in their careers.

We will explore how cultures of employability and performativity are shaped today, how the cultural game of the labour market is played. We will then investigate the Knowledge Economy and examine the global reach of management. Following this, we will discuss the pressures of the current economic crisis, its major ethical and cultural dimensions, as well as some of management’s reactions to environmental challenges.
