As a student at Lancaster, you will also have access to our excellent careers service, offering lifetime support, help and advice to all of our students.
This comes in the form of one-to-one support, advice on subjects such as work experience, employability skills and careers advice, as well as organising employability events throughout the academic year that many students find invaluable. The Knowledge Bank and Ask Careers function can also give you valuable information on where your degree may take you. If you wish, you can also undertake the Lancaster Award, which rewards you for taking part in extra-curricular activities.
Each year the Department organises a series of careers events specific to Mathematics and Statistics students, in collaboration with the University’s excellent careers service. These events include a series of employability talks in which students gain a general overview of the areas that their degree might take them, as well as information about the internships we offer and the Lancaster Award. In addition, this year we hosted our first Mathematics & Statistics Careers Fair, which included representatives from a range of graduate employers. These included Deloitte, GCHQ, PwC, Teach First, Movement Strategies, Hymans Robertson and FDM.
