Overview

Research Leadership Development Programme

The Research Leadership Development Programme provides a structured development route for academics and research staff, focusing on the demands and experience of everyday life as research leader. It is designed to promote impactful research and to support your leadership development beyond your disciplinary area.

The programme runs from January to July and consists of two elements:

Element 1: Coaching

The programme starts with an interactive and experiential one day workshop followed by group coaching. The workshop focuses on core foundations around your research, including prioritising from your values, managing the inner critic, sustaining the right balance, keeping focus and working with confidence. The coaching will respond to the goals you define in your role as research leader, for example around impact, dissemination and collaboration. The coaching provides a structure of challenge and accountability to achieve those goals and learn through the process.

Element 2: Research Leadership Development events

A suite of Research Leadership Development events run throughout the programme, covering a range of topics, all of which are related to Vitae’s Research Development Framework and designed to enhance your effectiveness as a research leader.
