For people who enjoy the web interface, it is now possible to subscribe, unsubscribe, post to the list, and set various options on your subscription from the web (follow the URL above). It should be very easy.
The web interface is NOT a replacement but a supplement for the usual method of maintaining your list subscription (through e-mail). You can ignore it entirely if you prefer.
