School-to-Work Transition

For males, Whitfield & Wilson estimate the following equation which describes the determination of the staying-on at school rate, S:

ln[S/(1-S)] = 3.3 + 0.09lnU-1 + 0.55lnRR-1 + 6.1lnCLASS-1 - 1.08YTS-1 + 0.21lnU -
10.56lnCLASS - 0.29lnRR - 0.9ln[S/(1-S)]-1

where U is the unemployment rate, RR is the rate of return attached to university study, CLASS is a measure of social structure, and YTS is a measure of the scale of youth training schemes. The subscript -1 deontes a lag, and is the difference operator.
The above equation implies that, in the long run,

ln[S/(1-S)] = 3.3 + 0.09lnU + 0.55lnRR + 6.1lnCLASS - 1.08YTS
ln[S/(1-S)] = 3.67 + 0.1lnU + 0.61lnRR + 6.78lnCLASS - 1.2YTS
ln[S/(1-S)] = 2.97 + 0.08lnU + 0.5lnRR + 5.49lnCLASS - 0.97YTS
none of the above
