Why study psychology at Lancaster?
We're proud of our teaching standards, innovative research and excellent facilities. Our students love studying here, and move on to rewarding careers or further studies.
Our academics are active researchers at the forefront of psychological development, each with their own specialism and area of expertise. We firmly believe that excellent teaching and cutting-edge research go hand in hand.
You can choose to study psychology exclusively, or alongside another subject in a Combined Degree. In your first year, we teach you the fundamentals of psychology: developmental psychology, brain and behaviour, cognitive psychology and social psychology, but as you work through your degree, we encourage you to explore topics of your own choice.
The topics that you will study are acknowledged by British Psychological Society as being eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership accreditation, which is the first step to becoming a Chartered Psychologist.
