St Andrew’s Church, Sedbergh.

On 9 June 1652 (‘Whitsunwednesday’), Fox preached under a yew tree in the churchyard. Traditionally, this particular tree was on the south side of the churchyard, on the other side from this image. A piece of the tree is shown inside the church. There were two, reduced to shells by 1820, and the last was blown down in the night of 27 January 1877. A photograph of it survives.
