Additional Support for Early Career Researchers
Lancaster University is committed to supporting the career skills development of early career researchers in all faculties. In addition to the support on offer from the Research Services team, below are some other initiatives that Early Career Researchers might be interested in.
Vitae is the global leader in supporting the professional development of researchers, experienced in working with institutions as they strive for research excellence, innovation and impact. The website has a wealth of resources and information.
Through Vitae, the University also has a Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, which is an agreement between funders and employers of research staff to improve the employment and support for researchers and research careers in UK higher education.
Formed in 2013 with the aim of supporting contract researchers across campus to ‘make life better’, while developing a real sense of community between research colleagues, RSA is run on a voluntary basis by researchers with the aid of OED. Membership is automatic on employment and all research staff are welcome to attend informal meetings, presentations, discussion forums, workshops and social occasions.
