The policy of Lancaster University is to promote our IP to generate research and impact. We actively encourage outside organisations to use and commercialise our inventions. For more details follow the links below or contact the Intellectual Property Team.

Lancaster University has formed and/or holds equity in a number of spinout companies.

Researchers at Lancaster University hold numerous granted patents for their inventions. Follow the link to see patents and patent applications available for licensing.

Lancaster University holds some registered trade marks.

A range of unique laboratory reagents and life science tools developed at Lancaster University may be obtained commercially via Ximbio (part of Cancer Research UK), and also other suppliers.

For staff - the TTO can help you to generate additional research funding by commercialising your research and inventions via patenting, licensing to third parties and the formation of spinout companies. The TTO also looks for licensees for IP and finance for spinouts. Full details of IP services for staff are available on the RES intranet (authentication required).
