In February 2015, the University Administration as a whole was awarded the Customer Service Excellence Standard.

This follows on from Professional Services (formerly Central Services) at Lancaster University being awarded the Customer Service Excellence (CSE) standard in February 2012.

CSE is a Government standard which shows that a service area has been independently assessed and validated as achieving excellence in customer service.

As well as providing validation of achievement, CSE aims to drive continuous service improvement, and supports staff in developing their customer-focused skills to build capacity for delivering improved services.
