Medical Students

The University has taught medicine (Course: medicine A105) under a HEFCE funded initiative since 2006, with approximately 50 new medical student places each year. Facilities include a new Clinical Anatomy Learning Centre on the Lancaster University campus, and an expanded Clinical Skills facility at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. 2. University Funding (Awards)

 

2.1 University Financial Awards Package

 

Entry in 2011 - students on Medicine (A105) at Lancaster University will be eligible to receive the Lancashire and Cumbria Medical and Dental Consortium award package, not the University Undergraduate award scheme. For further details please see www.lancs.ac.uk/shm/med/

 

Entry from 2012 - students will be entitled to the new Lancaster Funding package which replaces the Lancashire and Cumbria Medical and Dental Consortium package as above. For futher details please click here.

 

The consortium award package will be administered and paid by the Student Funding Service, Student Based Services, A-Floor, Lancaster University. For any queries please contact a student funding advisor.

 

2.2 Lancaster Opportunity and Access Fund - for students in financial difficulty.

 

Please note that for students entering pre-2012 on the medicine (A105) course cannot apply to the Lancaster Opportunity and Access Fund - but can apply to Liverpool University for any discretionary funding assistance. Awards are given in the form of non-repayable grants of between £100 and £3500. For information please see: www.liv.ac.uk/students/money
