Over 80 full-time academic and research staff and 100 research students have been attracted to Lancaster from all over the world. By working with our School of Computing and Communications (SCC) academic and research community, partner organisations gain access to world-class research with high impact.

By engaging with academics and research staff from the School, businesses gain access to one of one of only a handful of centres undertaking "leading edge systems research" (International Review of UK Computer Science). The breadth of expertise available within the School naturally lends itself to providing cross-disciplinary solutions to real-world challenges. You can find out about our research groups below.

Our staff can provide businesses with consultancy and advice to address specific technical problems. Alternatively, collaborative research projects can be developed through discussion with SCC academic and research staff facilitated by the Business Partnerships and Enterprise team. Contact SCC’s business partnerships managers to discuss the possible options.

Further information on ways of resourcing collaborative research projects with the School is available on the Access Funding and Networks page. We also have particular expertise in commercialising technology, with most of Lancaster University’s spin out companies coming from the School.

You can find out more about Lancaster’s world-class research activities, view details of publications, outputs and awards and make contact with our researchers.
