How will the School of Computing and Communications prepare me for life after Lancaster? 

Our undergraduate and postgraduate degrees provide excellent employment prospects. We are 2nd in the UK for graduate prospects in Computer Science (Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018), and along with our acclaimed careers service, we have several ways to support you to make the right choices about your future.

Our degree schemes are designed to give you a wide range of transferable skills desirable to employers within computing industries and beyond.

Professional Experience

Many of our degree schemes offer you the option to undertake projects and dissertations directed by external companies, as well as industrial placements and industry specific modules.


All of our current students and recent graduates can apply for relevant paid work experience through the Science and Technology Internship Programme.

As a student at Lancaster, you will gain access to our excellent careers service, offering lifetime support, help and friendly advice.


After you have graduated, you will have the opportunity to continue your studies to the level of Masters or PhD. In addition, we have a number of careers resources specifically for postgraduates.
