Computing and Communications Careers Fair
Each year we hold our own careers fair together with Business Partnerships & Enterprise, the Careers Service, and the Computer Science Society at Lancaster University. The event will be attended by over 20 exhibitors interested in providing placements and vacancies to computer science students and graduates. Our subject-specific careers fair offers a unique opportunity for computing students to connect face-to-face with a variety of employers, such as Network Rail, Oracle, Johnson and Johnson and a large range of SMEs. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to attend talks from companies’ representatives, which gives you the chance to make valuable business connections that may lead to employment. We often provide opportunities for you to attend workshops prior to the careers fair to help you to prepare for the event, such as our ‘Prepare for the Fair’ and networking workshops.
As a student at Lancaster, you will have access to our excellent Careers Service, which provides a dedicated and innovative service for students and graduate employers. We offer lifetime support, help and advice to all of our students. This includes one-to-one support and advice on work experience, employability skills and careers, as well as employability events throughout the academic year that many students find invaluable. The Knowledge Bank and ‘Ask Careers’ function provide valuable information on where your degree may take you, and you can also undertake the The Lancaster Award, which rewards you for taking part in extra-curricular activities. Furthermore, our on-campus recruitment agency advertises part-time work within the University, ensuring fair access to the paid work that is available.
