The School is housed within the University’s iconic InfoLab21 building – the region’s leading centre for ICT research and commercial innovation.

Undergraduate Labs

We provide 24-hour access to our five dedicated undergraduate labs. In addition to this, we provide 10 Gbps external internet capacity, free campus-wide Wi-Fi, open access to our virtualization cluster, free access to Microsoft software through Dreamspark Premium and custom built hardware to support our teaching. You'll never feel short of technical resources!

Software Design Studio

Our Software Engineering and Design Studios are spaces allowing our students to work intensively on conceiving, designing and developing software products together.

They are also spaces for teaching, with an emphasis on practical experimentation and hands-on work. The studios are fitted with amenities allowing students to work in groups for extended periods of time, and the feedback from students who have utilised the studios has been outstanding thus far.

An international Centre of Excellence for research in ICT, the iconic InfoLab21 building houses our School of Computing and Communications, and is the region's leading centre for ICT research and commercial innovation. Here, we undertake extensive teaching and research collaborations with leading international companies such as IBM, Microsoft, Google, Cisco, SAP, BBX and BAE Systems. InfoLab21 provides ICT support for businesses, business incubation facilities, ICT education and training, and research and development.

Knowledge Business Centre

Our Knowledge Business Centre promotes knowledge transfer between our academics and business, and maintains links with over 500 companies.

These extensive connections allow us to offer a wide range of industrially focused services to undergraduate students, such as industrial projects, organised industry placements, summer internships and short term paid consultancy work to assist with your living expenses.
