Meeting Room 3, Institute For Advanced Studies

At this meeting we will demonstrate Second Life and lead a discussion about its potential for educators. This is intended as an introductory meeting for those relatively new to the Second Life, or 3D virtual worlds in general.

The meeting will be presented in three parts:

  • Getting Started in Second Life - a demonstration of the basics. (12.00-12.30)
  • Some places of interest to educators (12.30 - 12.50pm)
  • Different ways to teach and learn in Second Life (12.50-1.30)

The meeting will be led by Julia Gillen (Literacy Research Centre) and Michele Ryan (Management, Learning & Leadership). All are welcome to attend.
