Energy Lancaster mini 'Sandpit'

Thu 07 - Mon 18 April 2011
Management School Building

Energy Lancaster invites interested parties to participate in a 2 day mini Sandpit on the 7th and 8th April at the Grange Hotel, Grange-Over-Sands. This is an opportunity to get away from the office to explore collaborative links and develop interdisciplinary research proposals in the area of energy. The Sandpit is available for all those already working in the area or those with no current research activities in energy but who have a desire to engage with the energy agenda.

The university has made available some seedcorn funding for the most promising ideas that come out of the event. The costs of overnight accommodation and subsistence (including a workshop dinner) will be met by Energy Lancaster.

The facilitation of the event will be provided by Knowinnovation who have previously contributed to RCUK sandpit events:

Liz Ogilvie is a highly experienced facilitator based in London. A graduate of University of London she is deeply involved in short-form Sandpits, and has recently run events for the University of Bath, University of Nottingham, and Sheffield Hallam University. Her work has a strong focus on developing innovation capability within a wide range of organisations.

Maggie Dugan is a highly experienced facilitator based in Paris. A graduate of Brown University she splits her time between facilitating academic innovation workshops, and writing publications. Maggie has attended the Creative Problem Solving Institute (CPSI) since 1988, and served on the Board of Trustees of the Creative Education Foundation (CEF) from 1998-2003 (as Vice-President in 2002-2003).
