2006 USA Sustainable Drainage Systems Mission - Have We Learned Anything?
Wednesday 21 May 2014, 0900-1700
Lancaster Environment Centre
This conference will update delegates on the current position with the National Standards and explore issues such as planning, design, sustainable drainage systems(SuDS)techniques and maintenance and retro-fit possibilities.
In the near future all new developments of more than one plot will be required to incorporate SuDS. Lead Local Flood Authorities (LLFAs) are required to establish SuDS Approving Bodies (SABs) who in turn will be responsible for considering every project and granting approval, according to the National Standards which are expected to be published in April.
We will also revisit the findings of a British Water, UKTI funded, SuDS mission to the USA in 2006 and discuss what progress has been made and whether the lessons and conclusions have been taken on board.
Members of the of the original mission team will be included in the line-up of presenters and delegates will have the opportunity to make comment, ask questions and gain an up to date picture of best practice in surface water management and SuDS.
Who is the conference for?
The conference will be of interest to developers, consulting engineers and drainage designers, contractors, SABs and LLFAs, planners, water companies, EA and anyone involved in the provision of surface water management and SuDS.
