Research Assistant: Lancaster Babylab x 3 (Marina Bazhydai)

The placement will provide the volunteer with the opportunity to become actively engaged in research with young infants. Involvement in different research studies will be possible, some of which will use eye tracking and behavioural coding techniques of infants’ and parents’ behaviours. Some studies will need two experimenters to be present, of which the volunteer could be one. For helping with eye tracking studies, the volunteer will be trained to conduct studies exploring how infants scan information presented to them on a computer screen. Other studies will investigate infants’ social behaviour by filming infants as they are experiencing a live scene. Being actively involved in ongoing research at the Lancaster Babylab will provide the volunteer with a unique opportunity to receive hands on research experience and to help out in the running of an active research programme.
