This internship is an exciting business development project, researching interest in the company's services. The project would be customer focused for a candidate with knowledge of the benefits of environmental technologies, the subsequent cost efficiencies that these provide to business and payback of them. The project will involve interaction with all sectors and industries. The candidate will have some knowledge of the water industry and water use within all industries and sectors. Technical knowledge of energy and water saving technologies is an advantage but not essential. The successful candidate must have their own laptop, usb headset for Skype meetings, and a good broadband connection for when working from home. However, for most of the internship the intern will be expected to be based in offices in Lancaster Environment Centre, working alongside the Company Director and other interns.
This is a summer internship for just under three months, and is part-funded by banking group Santander. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will start as soon as exams or term has ended.
A good understanding of environmental issues related to energy reduction and efficiency including government targets
Excellent verbal communications skills and an assured telephone manner
A good working knowledge of IT including Excel spread sheets
Excellent time management skills and the ability to work one's own initiative
Confident, friendly and outgoing personality.
Resilient, able to deal with setbacks and take on board constructive feedback.
