Lancaster hosts first UK-Japan workshop on graphene

The 2010 Nobel Laureate Professor Kostya Novoselov has given the opening lecture at the first bilateral UK-Japan workshop on the new material graphene, hosted by the Department of Physics.
More than a hundred researchers attended the event, which was organised by Dr Edward McCann and Professor Vladimir Falko. The workshop opens a series of national meetings to coordinate the UK effort into further research into graphene, which consists of an atomically thin layer of carbon atoms.
