Lancaster energy researchers share their expertise
Experts based in The Lancaster Environment Centre and Energy Lancaster have been sharing their expertise on matters of sustainable energy and global energy use.
Lancaster Environment Centre's Nick Hewitt gave the keynote invited lecture at the PROBIOPA International Conference on Sustainable Biomass Production organised by the Helmholtz Zentrum Muenchen in Freising, Germany on November 28th.
The conference was funded by the German government as part of their Bioenergy2021 research programme.
Meanwhile Andy Jarvis (Energy Lancaster), Nick Hewitt (LEC) and their collaborator Stephen Jarvis (Office of Gas and Electricity Markets) gave a seminar at the Department of Energy and Climate Change on December 2nd on their analysis of global energy use and the growth of industrial society.

Professor Roger Jones has replaced Professor Peter Ratoff as Head of the Physics Department. Roger gained a PhD studying neutrino interactions at CERN and Fermilab before starting his career at CERN working at the Large Electron-Positron (LEP) Collider.
