Congratulations to Sophie Van der Zee for passing her viva subject to a few small changes.
Sophie's PhD developed new methodology for real-time measurement of full-body mimicry, and she demonstrated that mimicry increases when people are under cognitive load (e.g., when lying, when speaking in a second language, and when lying in a second language!).

Professor Roger Jones has replaced Professor Peter Ratoff as Head of the Physics Department. Roger gained a PhD studying neutrino interactions at CERN and Fermilab before starting his career at CERN working at the Large Electron-Positron (LEP) Collider.
