50th InfoTextX Issued
How InfoTextX might have been written at the very beginning! (...it wasn't)
InfoLab21 have issued the 50th edition of InfoTextX, an e-newsletter sent out every month from the Knowledge Business Centre to Associate Companies, Partners, Researchers and Collaborators.
Over the 5 years that InfoTextX has been running it has built up an impressive readership of over 1000 subscribers from the North West region and beyond. As part of a range of knowledge transfer activities, it has helped to build relationships between the University and the wider community.
InfoTextX keeps readers informed about available opportunities for support, networking and collaboration and reports on the latest cutting-edge research emerging from Lancaster University's ICT Centre of Excellence.
Recent examples have included one of the world's first mobile phone games to be driven by brain power ( Researchers Developing Mobile Mind Games) and new technology which will help identify the online activities of criminals (InfoLab21 Helps Fight Cyber Crime).
InfoTextX editor Sarah Maginness said,
"We are pleased to have reached the milestones of 50 issues and 5 years, we think it may be the longest running external e-newsletter in the University and are proud that there is always something new to report each month from InfoLab21. We have received positive comments from our readers, one of our associates replied to the latest edition to say thank you and let us know that he still enjoyed reading InfoTextX event though he has left the North West."
As well as the academic research going on in InfoLab21's Computing and Communication Systems departments there is always something to report from InfoLab21's resident and spin-out companies.
InfoLab21's training centre ICT Focus also uses InfoTextX to let companies know about all their courses.
"We are pleased to be able to offer InfoTextX to help share their news and keep people informed about all the things going on inside InfoLab21." Sarah added.
News and events from InfoLab21 may also include items from other University projects, partners or associate companies and items of interest to the digital and creative sector.
