Lancaster exerts heavy research influence in environment and ecology

Lancaster University has been ranked at number 5 in the UK and 32nd globally for citations per paper in the field of environment and ecology according to the Times Higher Education magazine.
The Thomson Reuters database looked at a total of 529 UK institutions listed in this field, seeking to reveal what the THE calls "heavy hitters" based not on mere output, but influence per paper. Lancaster scored an average of 20.19 citations per paper, compared with 23.06 for Oxford, which ranked 1st in the UK and 9th globally.

The Engineering Department has been working with a group of “Aspiring Engineers” at Ripley St Thomas Church of England Academy.
