Graduate Academy Project Praised
One of the recent projects by the InfoLab21 Graduate Academy was highly praised in the September Cumbria Business Gazette.
The project was a website for the Lakeland Businesswomen's Network. The Lakeland Businesswomen's Network exists to provide support and subsidised training to female owner/managers based in the Lake District.
InfoLab21 developed an updatable website to promote the network and the support it offers and the individual company members throughout the Lake District. The website is co-ordinated by the members and allows the Network to add new members as they join. The website supports potential business sales through the active marketing of members through a shared facility.
LBN Chairperson Hilary Claxton said,
"It was one of our members who discovered that some businesses in our area qualified for EU funding from the University of Lancaster to have their website designed, free of charge. Fortunately, because we have members from all areas of the Lake District we qualified".
"The help we received and of course the free funding has been immeasurable. We now have a truly professional website that our members can be proud of and it's working for them."
Lucy Barden, Co-Membership Secretary and Website Administrator, said,
"We have all been very impressed by Lancaster University staff and expertise and are very pleased with the results."
