Research Team

Local clinicians are welcome to be involved in supervising the service related projects (SRPs) and theses conducted by trainees on the programme. More information about supervising these assignments can be found at the following links:

We also invite clinicians in the region to examine the assignments undertaken by the trainees. Those individuals who mark for the programme are registered as honorary lecturers and receive a number of benefits including access to the university library. For further details about these benefits and the assignments available for marking please see the link below:

Research Seminars

Each year we invite guest speakers to deliver seminars on research findings of relevance to the field of clinical psychology. The talks are open for anyone to attend. The last two seminars within the series are an integral part of the presentation days for the SRP and thesis, held in February and June respectively. At these events the trainees present their research findings to peers, members of staff and stakeholders including service users. Supervisors of the SRP and thesis are also warmly invited to attend.

In addition to providing research teaching and supervision to the trainees, the members of staff within the research team are active researchers. As such all are members of the research group for mental health and wellbeing within the Division of Health Research and have their own specific research interests for PhD supervision (see individual staff webpages).

DClinPsy Insight

The programme tries to maintain a friendly, caring and approachable face with its trainees and with all qualified clinicians who contribute to the training programme. Our vision is to continue in this spirit.
