Placement provision: review of feedback
The programme team will review any of the records the programme holds about previous placements provided by that potential supervisor and the service in question and whether there has been a serious concern raised about the quality of this placement or supervisor before.
In addition, regular liaison takes place between the three northwest training programmes who share the majority of the practice placements in the northwest, so that any previous difficulties can be identified and addressed. Should any problems have been identified that have put into question the appropriateness of a specific placement, the placement providers are consulted and assurance sought that (i) any issues identified have been addressed and (ii) there is a process in place to assure the ongoing quality of the placement. If such assurances are not received, the offer of a placement will not be taken up by the programme.
