Unconditional Offer Scheme

At the Department of Sociology we are proud of our reputation for academic excellence and we want to encourage applicants with outstanding academic profiles to study with us.

The Unconditional Offer Scheme* enables us to demonstrate to exceptional students our belief that they will continue to excel by choosing to study with us.

Unconditional offers will be made to applicants who have the strongest academic profiles in terms of existing qualifications and predicted grades.  Personal statements and references will also be taken into account and your performance in an interview will form part of our assessment. The unconditional offer will be confirmed once a selected applicant has made Lancaster their firm choice.

If you qualify for an unconditional offer, we will contact you when you apply and invite you to attend an interview at the University. This will also give you an opportunity to meet current students and members of staff.'

*This scheme is currently only available to BA Media and Cultural Studies and BA Sociology applicants.

Scholarship

Under this scheme, unconditional offer holders who achieve the published entry grades for the course (AAB-ABB), will receive a scholarship of £1,000. If you go on to achieve outstanding excellence in your qualifications (A*A*A at ‘A’ level or equivalent), you will receive a £3,000 Excellence Scholarship.
