Social Work

At Lancaster our Social Work students benefit from teaching by some of the best academics in the field. Our dedicated team look after our students, creating a friendly atmosphere in which they can study; we are both approachable and accessible to our students.

We offer two Social Work courses at Lancaster, both are qualifying courses and have been accredited by the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)..Whether you are looking to qualify and apply to register as a social worker, or whether you want to be engaged in continuing professional development after working in the field, we support you in developing and using your professional judgment in the complex situations that social workers face.

Our programmes are informed by internationally leading research as well as the Knowledge and Skills Statements for Social Work, as specified by the Department of Education and the Department of Health.‌

For further details about our courses and modules see Social Work courses.

Studying Social Work at Lancaster is by no means an easy ride, but that’s what makes it great, that we are constantly being encouraged to expand our thinking and our knowledge at every opportunity – preparing us for practice as qualified social workers.
