Where do I find the team?

You can find us at the Fresher’s Fair where we will have a stand with all information about the club and what we offer available. We have taster sessions at the end of Fresher’s week at the university astro-turf, with trainings every Tuesday (9pm-10:30pm) and Thursday (Chalkboard session 7:30pm-9pm, followed by training 9-10:15pm) night and Sunday afternoon (1pm-4pm) at the same location for the rest of the year.

Is experience necessary to play at Lancaster?

No experience is needed at all to play American Football at the university. We have fully qualified and knowledgeable coaches, with decades of being involved in the game between them. We welcome all willing to give the sport a go, no matter their ability, weight, height and experience – there is a position on the team for everyone. All that is needed is dedication and motivation.

Is equipment supplied?

Every player who pays fees to the club is supplied with their own equipment for the whole year. As well as this the fees include travel to and from away games, insurance and food at the end of all games. As a result the Bombers are one of the most competitively priced American Football teams in the country.

Are there any non-playing roles available?

Not everyone part of the club has to play the sport. We are constantly looking for those with an interest in photography or media to provide match photos and film from both training sessions and games to help the team improve throughout the season. Further to that we are also looking for a ‘gameday manager’, to help make matches run as smooth as possible, as well as a statistician to help contribute to match reports and the team as a whole.

Is there an active social calendar for the team?

Social events are considered very important to the team as that is where friendships are formed in order to make the team morale as high and strong as possible. Every Sunday NFL games are shown at our sponsor The Friary, where we relax after a hard days training or to celebrate a victory. Our social secretaries also have an active role in creating events (both teambuilding and nights out) to suit the team needs.
