‘Sport Lancaster’ is a joint partnership with Lancaster University and Lancaster University Students’ Union that brings together all the sporting opportunities on offer to you at Lancaster University.
You may be into competitive or recreational sport, keeping healthy in body and mind or simply enjoy being active, whatever it is there will be an activity for you to enjoy. Whether you have been playing since childhood or just want to try something new, we can provide you with the chance to play your sport, be it inter varsity, inter college or in local leagues, there really is something for everyone!
Lancaster University's Sports Centre features the very latest in top of the range sporting facilities.
Facilities include a 25 metre Swimming Pool with 8 lanes - including a ‘floating floor' which can vary the depth of the pool, Climbing Wall & Bouldering Cave which has been specially designed with input from renowned mountaineer and university Chancellor Sir Chris Bonington, Health & Fitness Suites, Sauna & Steam Rooms, Sports Hall with 8 badminton Courts, 4 Squash Courts and outdoor changing facilities for field games. JUST PLAY is our recreational sports project that has been created thanks to funding received from Sport England’s ‘University Sport Activation Fund’. The JUST PLAY programme consists of 18 different sports and physical activity sessions that are designed to make sure there is an offer for those of you that just want to play sport for fun, to keep fit and meet new friends. Sport with Lancaster University Students' Union
There is a huge range of ways that you can get involved in all kinds of sport through the Students' Union. We have over 35 sports clubs ranging from American Football to Korfball as well as the staples of rugby, netball, football, and hockey who all compete against other institutions regularly with the hope of winning their leagues and competitions. Inter-college sport is also big here at Lancaster and there are other ways you can get involved too. Find out more here.
