26 April 2017
Friday 28th April is On Your Feet Britain Day 2017. This national campaign encourages everyone to #SitLess and #MoveMore.

The On Your Feet challenge encourages office workers to make some simple changes to their typical working day, encouraging people to think about their activity levels and fitness. The campaign suggests you can make these simple and easy changes to improve lifestyle:

  • Stand during phone calls
  • Stand and take a break from your computer every 30 minutes
  • Use the stairs
  • Have standing or walking meetings
  • Eat your lunch away from your desk
  • Walk to your colleague's desk instead of phoning or emailing them
  • Stand at the back of the room during presentations

Sitting at your desk for hours on end can lead to poor posture, and a loss of fitness. Here at the Sports Centre we want to encourage you to take the challenge to be more active.

Why not try some of our simple office exercies and stretches, designed to improve fitness. Don't forget to take a selfie of you and your team trying these out and post to the Sports Centre Facebook page.
