Our
research centres on the response of plants to climate change-related stresses
focusing on the integrated study of plant-environment interactions at the
whole-plant, cellular and molecular levels. We are specifically interested in
the response of plants to reduced water availability, elevated carbon dioxide
levels, high rhizospheric calcium and ozone stress.
We aim to address outstanding questions relating to signal
specificity and crosstalk between stress signalling pathways. Through these studies we aim
to extend the understanding of the cellular/molecular basis of plant stress
tolerance in order to reduce the impact of global change on crop performance,
food security, and the biodiversity of vulnerable plant communities.
