Crossing Borders personnel Graham Mort, Hannah Henderson and Chris Bartram have just returned from Nigeria where they met representatives from British Council offices in South Africa, Cameroon, Ghana and Nigeria.  Ugandan Writers at UK Literature Festivals

 Crossing Borders Writers’ Visits 2004

Plans are now being laid for the Crossing Borders writers’ visits in February/March 2004. Graham Mort will visit Zimbabwe, Sara Maitland, Uganda, Brian McCabe, Zambia, Catherine Johnson, Malawi and John Lindley, Kenya. The writers will be running workshops for Crossing Borders participants as well as new writers. They will also be taking part in a public reading of new work.

Manuscript Editing Scheme Comes to Uganda

Four Ugandan writers are taking part in a new offshoot of Crossing Borders. In this manuscript editing scheme, four writers - Winnie Munyarugerero, Ernest Sempebwa Bazanye, Mildred Kiconco and David Tumusiime - will have an entire manuscript taken through a rigorous editorial process by their UK-based mentor. If the idea is successful, then it will become a feature of Crossing Borders in other participating countries.
