Funding from the Friends Programme enabled three undergraduate students to gain valuable work and life experience within the field of environmental science.
Students from Lancaster University, who have faced significant challenges in their lives, completed a three day Frontrunner Leadership course delivered by Common Purpose, an independent international leadership organisation part funded through the Alumni Friends Programme.
Funded through the Alumni Friends Programme, the Campus in the City programme has been a great success within the local community.
As part of Lancaster University’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, the Centre for Ageing Research is hosting a public lecture and panel discussion aimed at encouraging debate about what forms of interventions are needed or are proven to be most effective in addressing loneliness and social isolation in later life and where responsibility lies for tackling the issue.Find out more

Lancaster in London
Lancaster University’s London base is at The Work Foundation in Westminster. Alumni can take advantage of selected Work Foundation events. Socially, you will find your base with the Alumni@London group to connect with other alumni based in or visiting London.
The group run informal gatherings year round and are represented at University events at The Work Foundation such as the popular “Management in Action” speaker series featuring Lancaster alumni.
