Having dated for six years after meeting at Lancaster, an alumni couple have started their social media company

Jamie Stokes and Sarah Laughran first met in a Grizedale College corridor and despite following completely different subjects, they have joined forces to form a successful social media business.

After graduation, Sarah got a job managing Facebook and Twitter accounts for a market research company with the task of growing their online presence, a role for which she discovered she had a natural ability. She subsequently underwent extensive training, and became a member of the Market Research Society (MRS) and completed a number of social media courses including strategy, management and analysis.

Jamie obtained a MPhys in Astrophysics and Cosmology whilst  Sarah studied for a BSc in Business Studies. The 'opposites attract' scenario has not only led them to find each other, but has also helped them on the road to entrepreneurial success. Jamie's physics background assisted him in the creation of their website and to technically support the venture, whilst Sarah's business acumen has been the driving force behind the project.

The company, Inovision Limited, covers everything in social media. It starts up and manages companies' social media pages and features a blog which has widespread coverage. The most popular section of Inovision is the workshops and training courses which Jamie and Sarah have travelled the length and breadth of the country to deliver. Inovision was incorporated in August 2012 and has seen a prompt increase in popularity, especially amongst social media bloggers and internet professionals.
