Liam Gerrard has already established a great career in theatre and recently returned to perform in Lancaster where it all began!

Liam Gerrard (Theatre Studies, 2004, Grizedale) trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts before studying for his Masters at the UEA. He has since worked for most of the biggest producing theatres in the country.  Shakespeare has been a focal point and early in his career he toured 'A Midsummer Night's Dream and 'Romeo & Juliet' with the British Shakespeare Company sharing the stage with celebrated dancer, Wayne Sleep. He also did a six month tour of 'Romeo & Juliet' with Northern Broadsides.  Last year he played the leading role, Prospero, in The Tempest at Watford Palace and was the youngest actor to play the role in London.

He has appeared in Classics and new plays as well as big-budget musicals and even an opera (Rigoletto) at many theatres.  In 2012 he appeared in 'Miss Julie' at the Manchester Royal Exchange alongside Maxine Peake. The production was critically acclaimed in the national press and nominated for two Manchester Theatre Awards.
Finally, last Christmas he was delighted to return to Lancaster to The Dukes to play Bob Cratchitt and Jacob Marley in A 'Christmas Carol' and returned again in March 2014 with 'The Life & Times of Mitchell & Kenyon', a co-production with Oldham Coliseum and the Lancaster-based Imitating The Dog;  a play which focused on the lost films of the late Victorian cinematographists Mitchell & Kenyon, whose films were only recently discovered in a churn on a building site in Blackburn.
Liam's film and television work has included Holyoaks, Death Defying Acts (with Catherine Zeta-Jones), Cancer Scare, Arch and numerous television commercials and advertising campaigns.  (It was probably the promotional offers at the Sugarhouse that led him to appear in 6 WKD television commercials!) He also does voice-overs for radio, audiobooks and many Fortune 500 companies.

He is married to Rachel, another Theatre Studies graduate and Grizedalian!
