There are 128 self-contained studios on campus for undergraduates that prefer a more independent way of living. There are also eight twin studios suitable for couples or friends sharing. Self-contained studios are available in Grizedale and Pendle Colleges, on Alexandra Park only.
Applicants should note that there are no communal areas in these buildings, and as such are better suited to continuing students that have already formed friendship groups. New undergraduates are advised to consider carefully before applying.

How much do they cost?
Single studios cost £223.93 per week for 40 weeks.
There are a handful of twin studios for students that would like to share with somebody, and these cost £253.54 per week (or £126.77 per person).

What's included in a single studio?
Single studios are fitted with a bed measuring 1900mm long x 1200mm wide, desk and operator chair, wardrobe, drawers and bookshelves. There is also a small dining table and two chairs.
The kitchenette comes complete with a combination oven/microwave/grill and two hob rings. There is also a sink, a fridge with a freezer box in the top of it, and a kettle supplied.
Your ensuite contains a shower, washbasin and WC.
An iron, ironing board and vacuum cleaner is shared between the other apartments in your flat.

How about twin studios?
Twin studios are much bigger and have two single beds (1900x900mm) that may be zipped together to create a super king-size double if required.
There is more desk space and two operator chairs, plus two wardrobes, drawers and bookshelves.
Aside from that the provision is the same as in the single studios:
