This year long module aims to provide the foundation skills in preparation for direct practice in your first placement, which takes place at the start of year 2.
This is the first of 3 Practice Core modules that run in the 3 successive years of your BA course. It will develop your understanding of the role of social work, the key skills, values, and knowledge than underpin the profession.
We will begin by considering what is social work and conclude with the essential skills in relationship-based practice. You will be supported to develop a beginning understanding of reflective practice. We will also have a strong emphasis on self-care and resilience skills.
