This module will introduce the theoretical aspects of curriculum design and session planning and explore the range of teaching and facilitation methods relevant to medical education. It will develop students’ ability to critically select and apply a broad range of educational techniques and to design effective teaching and learning sessions. Students will cover topics including learning outcomes and links to formative and summative assessment, session learning objectives, matching learning methods to learning objectives, factors influencing teaching and learning, methods for medical teaching and key factors to consider when choosing between approaches.
