Introduction to Evaluation, Feedback and Assessment

This module will introduce the theoretical aspects of evaluation, feedback and formative assessment, and develop learners’ ability to make theoretically-informed decisions in relation to these aspects in their own teaching context. Students will cover topics including theories and models of evaluation, the purpose of assessment in the context of medical education, differences and similarities between formative and summative assessment, approaches and techniques for formative assessment design, the role of feedback within formative assessment and models of formative assessment and feedback.
